4. CONNOR

Since joining us a year ago Connor has helped the Corsairs with not just improving their skills on the pitch, but also their confidence.

How much experience did you have of playing rugby before joining the Corsairs?
A few years playing at school and then I've been coaching rugby for over 3 years.

How did you first hear about Coventry Corsairs RFC?
Through social media.

What made you decide to join the club?
The idea of an inclusive club, welcome to everybody regardless of experience, ability, background, sexuality etc. It was the type of club which I knew I'd feel comfortable to coach. I didn't expect to start playing again but there's so much support and encouragement from everyone that I couldn't help myself!

What's the best part of being a member of the Corsairs?
The camaraderie amongst the entire team. The coaching isn't too shabby either!

What are you most proud of achieving since joining the club?
Seeing the team win the Beormer Bowl at 'Touch My Brum'.

What's your favourite memory since becoming a Corsair?
Playing my first contact game with the team, in the match against the Hull Roundheads. It was a tough game against a really strong team but everyone held their heads high and kept going.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of joining the club?
Do it! You'll be welcomed with open arms and there will be a drink waiting for you afterwards!
