You have never known anyone more desperate to be Photoshopped as the Green Lantern!

How much experience did you have of playing rugby before joining the Corsairs?
Almost none. I played a little and very badly at school lol.

How did the idea for the Corsairs come about?
It was after a random conversation on Grindr with Diego.

What made you decide to start up the club?
We created the club so there could be a safe-space and an inclusive sport for not just the LGBTQ+ community, but for everyone. We started off with one Facebook post and six people at the first training session. How times have changed!

It's been really inspiring to watch the club grow and see people make connections and lasting friendships. This is a team that really knows and lives the meaning of team spirit.

What's the best part of being a member of the Corsairs?
The people - they are the heart and soul of the team and they keep the club going.

What are you most proud of achieving since joining the club?
Helping to create the club and watching it grow.

What's your favourite memory since becoming a Corsair?
Winning the Beormer Bowl at 'Touch My Brum' in 2021.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of joining the club?
It's an amazing experience that you will never forget. You do not need to worry about being judged as it really is an inclusive safe space for sport.
